Alabama's Jonathan Allen says a surprising team had the best OL this season

This is a huge surprise.

Alabama defensive lineman Jonathan Allen has been a monster and absolute menace to all opposing offensive lines this year. He's accrued 56 total tackles, 13 tackles for loss, a kick block, two defensive touchdowns and 8.5 sacks this season.

So when he says which offensive line was the toughest of the year you better believe they were good. However, his answer to the question of who owned the toughest line he saw all season will surprise everyone, even the team he's complimenting.

"I got to give it to the whole Kentucky front," Allen said. "When I say that was probably the most physical game that I've played in this year, I have to give it them. They came with it that game. It kind of caught us by surprise. That was a real physical game."

That was the second SEC game of the season for Allen and he actually recorded a career-high eight tackles while adding a sack. And granted, Alabama still won handily 34-6 but that's some high praise from the likely high draft pick. But he wasn't finished with the compliments.

"Just the determination and the want to. They meant business when they came. I feel like we kind of overlooked them a little bit at first. It was a wake-up call upfront that said 'hey, you got to bring it. These guys are playing. It's SEC ball now.'"

Allen has already taken home three major awards with the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, Ted Hendricks Award (top defensive end) and Nagurski Trophy (best defensive player) all now belonging to him. Allen is also a finalist for the Walter Camp Player of the Year Award and the Lott IMPACT Trophy.
