Kirk Herbstreit has this big time sleeper making it to the playoffs

Oklahoma isn't going to like this.

Most people's playoff teams for this year include some combination of Michigan, Ohio State, Florida State, Clemson, Alabama, LSU and Oklahoma. However, Kirk Herbstreit likes to make predictions off the beaten path. This is the same guy who said that the playoff committee wouldn't let two teams in from the same conference if they were ranked in the top four.

While he has three of the four most popular choices in his playoff foursome —- Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State —- his choice from the Big 12 will probably surprise and upset a lot of people. He thinks the TCU Horned Frogs will be the victors of the conference and headed to the playoffs this year.

"Those three I feel pretty good about. The fourth team I think I'm going to go TCU out of the Big 12. It's either a Pac-12 team or TCU. Right now, I'm leaning towards TCU as my fourth team to get in."

Let's not forget that Herbstreit had Oklahoma getting into the playoffs last year when no one else did so he may very well be on to something here. Some others analysts and writers have TCU playing better than expected
