Leonard Fournette's ankle sprain this week has brought back the debate about whether high profile football players should wait it out until they become eligible for the NFL Draft rather than risk injury in the college ranks.

While Fournette's injury isn't career-threatening by any stretch, it certainly brings the potential for disaster to the forefront. He's seen by many as the country's best back and a surefire first round draft pick. South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore was destined for a career in the pros when he met with a career-ending injury in 2012. ESPN analyst Danny Kanell and sports talk radio host Nick Wright had a bit f a heated discourse about the issue on Twitter Wednesday. And Wright even went as far as offering Fournette a cash gift so the NCAA would declare the star running back ineligible.

Filling in for Colin Cowherd on Fox Sports 1's The Herd with Colin Cowherd, Wright tweeted about it ad nauseum.
.@getnickwright: Leonard Fournette shouldn't play another snap of college football. #TheHerdhttps://t.co/TA51iALRZ5

For your sake Leonard Fournette, @getnickwright is offering you $1,500 to buy your collegiate eligibility. #TheHerdhttps://t.co/nLrOWPZDXC

Kanell, for his part, didn't take too kindly to Wright's suggestions, but Wright was clearly up for a Twitter feud.
I can't believe people out there suggesting (again) Fournette should sit out this season. So asinine. But hey if hot takes are your thing...
