According to the former Irish quarterback's father, Imani Zaire, his son will likely choose between Wisconsin and North Carolina by Tuesday at the latest. Zaire took visits to Madison and Chapel Hill last week, first to Wisconsin and second to North Carolina.

Zaire, who is scheduled to graduate from Notre Dame, is set to be eligible next season as a graduate transfer.

Florida and Pitt were initially considered contenders for Zaire, but it appears that Pitt has been eliminated by Zaire. The Gators were eliminated from contention when NCAA rules kept them out of contention due to graduate transfer restrictions.

North Carolina might be the best destination for Zaire if current Tar Heels quarterback Mitch Trubisky does indeed declare for the NFL Draft. Things could be complicated at Wisconsin, where Zaire would be in competition with current freshman quarterback Alex Hornibrook.

Zaire, a former four-star recruit of the 2013 recruiting class, has thrown for 816 yards and six touchdowns in his Notre Dame career. Most notably, Zaire completely 31-of-37 (83.7-percent) passes in his two biggest starts against LSU in 2014 and Texas in 2015.
