It should never be the plan of any offense getting ready to go up against the Alabama defense to give them any sort of added motivation. Apparently USC didn't get that memo. Heading into Alabama's matchup with USC much attention was paid to the USC receiving corp, a corp that includes several potential NFL draft picks, none better than future first round pick JuJu Smith-Schuster.

It seems that all of the attention lead to USC feeling very confident about their chances Saturday night and it also lead to the Alabama secondary feeling "disrespected".

And then there was also this from Humphrey,

So maybe, just maybe, Alabama's opponents might want to think about not giving the Tide that added motivation or be ready to suffer the consequences.
Alabama won 52-6.
