Social media blew up on Saturday with the tale of Wendell Williams, an NAIA player who reported broke the NFL Combine 40-yard dash record by running a 4.19 at a regional Combine.

Wendell Williams from University of Cumberlands just broke a record @NFLRegCom running the 40yrd dash in 4.19! #dontstopyafeet

Williams is a champion sprinter and long-jumper at the NAIA level, and some believe he has some promise as a returner in the NFL. However, everyone's parade was kind of squashed when the reported 4.19 turned out to be a bit inaccurate.
On that Wendell Williams 40 time. One scout told me the laser time was 4.32. Hand times were 4.19. #pumpsbrakes

Oh, so he ONLY ran a 4.32. What a bust. (that's sarcasm, by the way)
Not only did Williams have that gaudy 40-time, but he also measured a 45-inch vertical leap. I have no idea if he could actually make it in the NFL, but that kind of athleticism is rare; he might take some work, but he is definitely worth at least some attention by the NFL.
