The NFL has agreed to try out two new rules for this upcoming season as one-year experiments. ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting that it involves kickoffs and unsportsmanlike conducts.

The rule for unsportsmanlike conduct is one that this league has needed for a long time. Hopefully that will discourage players from racking up the penalties because there has really been no consequence for it, especially when a game is out of hand and players just want to take their cheap shots.

As for the kickoff, that is basically the college rule right now. That rule will probably discourage kickers from kicking it all the way into the back of the endzone because most special teams should be able to get a stop before the returner gets back to the 25-yard line. This should get some people excited as they are extremely tired of seeing no returns on kickoffs.
