Nick Saban or Bear Bryant? FSU's Bobby Bowden weighs in on the best

Who's the best?

Former Florida State head coach Bobby Bowden knows a thing or two about success in college football.

The one-time head coach has 377 career wins, ranking just behind Joe Paterno's 409 and he's seen some of the best of them coach.

So when he was asked to compare Nick Saban's current 25-year run (191 wins, seven conference titles, five national championships) to Bear Bryant's 37-year career (323 wins, 14 SEC titles and six national championships), the legend didn't hesitate to pick who's run is more impressive.

"That's a pretty good question," Bowden said per AL.com, via NBC Sports. "I'd say probably what Nick Saban is doing (is more impressive) because football is more balanced now. I think when coach Bryant came to Alabama in 1958, I think it was unlimited recruiting. You could sign all the kids you wanted, and he's gonna get most of them.

"There was an old saying back in those days, 'He's gonna get his and he's gonna get yours.'"

Saban and Alabama aren't done yet, though. And if there's any doubt on where his career stands, it's probably best to simply assume it's going to end on the same note it's currently rolling — with a successful season and likely another national championship.
