Hines officially selected A&M over Ohio State, Florida, Penn State, TCU, and UCLA. Hines had named those schools as his finalists earlier this week when announcing his intention to commit on Friday.
Kevin Sumlin and Texas A&M have quietly built one of the best recruiting classes in the nation. Hines is now the No. 2 A&M commit for the 2017 class, which has 24 total commitments and ranks as No. 6 overall at 247Sports.
