Oklahoma loses top playmaker after devastating hit by Oklahoma State

Oklahoma wide receiver Dede Westbrook is one of the top playmakers in the nation, and the has emerged as a legitimate Heisman candidate as the Sooners have won eight straight games.

However, Oklahoma may be without Westbrook for the remainder of the de-facto Big 12 title game against Oklahoma State after this devastating hit over the middle.

Westbrook was motionless on the field for a few moments before being tended to. He was eventually able to walk off under his own power, but he was likely placed in concussion protocol following the play. He will miss the remainder of the game.

Targeting has been a very controversial penalty for the last couple of years in college football, but a penalty was not called on this hit.

Westbrook had four catches for 111 yards and a touchdown before exiting the game. Westbrook had 1,354 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns in 11 games heading into the annual "Bedlam" game vs. the Cowboys.
