Possible starting ACC QB gets horrible injury news from team scrimmage

This will likely prompt a change.

Miami and coach Mark Richt have the difficult task of replacing quarterback Brad Kaaya prior to the beginning of the 2017 season, and redshirt freshman QB Jack Allison has been the presumed favorite to earn the starting job.

Richt has allowed his quarterbacks to be hit during spring practice, and Allison was injured after a recent scrimmage.

It was initially reported that Allison had suffered minor AC sprain to his throwing shoulder after being sacked during the scrimmage, but it was later revealed that Allison also suffered a concussion.

Richt hasn't detailed the severity of either injury, so it's unclear how long Allison will be out. Allison was a four-star recruit coming out of high school.

Malik Rosier and Evan Shirreffs are the other two quarterbacks competing for the starting position.

Having QB's go live in scrimmage can be beneficial for coaches, but it also presents the possibility of injuries. Richt might have to alter his strategy after Allison's injury.
