Tulsa was seconds away from either forcing overtime or taking the lead, depending on what they would have opted had they scored in the final seconds against No. 13 Houston.

A second-and-goal pass play led led to the Cougs stopping Tulsa inches away from the goal line with no timeouts remaining, as Houston held on, 38-31.
But what was ruled a game-saving first-down play, might not have been legal:

Wasn't Houston like way offsides on that precious play?

Refs blew the end of TU-Houston. Coogs had 13 men on field, plus 2 coming on were offsides at the snap. And one of those made the tackle.

As if that's not frustrating enough for Tulsa, they could have won it seconds earlier if not for a major miscue.
Other side of that next-to-last play: defensive confusion left 2 Tulsa WRs completely uncovered. Easy TD if TU offense isn't panicked.

Regardless, the Golden Hurricanes may have deserved another shot from in close if not for a handful of massive missed calls in the final seconds.
