Report: Several coaches think this coach on the NFL hot seat could be headed to college

Could we see him light up college football again?

Chip Kelly was the hottest coach in college football at one point and that's what got him to the pros. He started out coaching the Philadelphia Eagles, but was fired after a 7-9 record in 2015 and after he traded away All-Pro running back LeSean McCoy for former Oregon linebacker Kiko Alonso.

He also sent Pro Bowler Nick Foles to the Rams for Sam Bradford and both the trades he made were met with mostly negative reception. He also signed former Cowboys running DeMarco Murray who was the reigning rushing champion and that did not go over well as he rushed for only 702 yards, but still had 322 receiving yards.

It seems that with his current team, the San Francisco 49ers, he is not getting off to a hot start either with a 1-5 record and the Colin Kaepernick national anthem protest distracting the team. Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported Wednesday that Chip Kelly may be seeking a return to the college ranks with several high-profile schools likely searching for coaching candidates.

With LSU and Purdue already firing their coaches and a few others potentially ready to fire theirs, Kelly could be very be back on the market for college coaching. Texas and Oregon are two of those schools on the verge of firing their coaches and a revival at where he got big in the first place would be a fantastic redemption story.
