He was immediately taken out of the game and replaced by rookie third-round pick Jacoby Brissett. After undergoing a series of tests, the news couldn't be much worse for New England, which has a short week and a matchup against the Houston Texans Thursday night:
The early indication on Garoppolo's injury is it will take 6 weeks to heal, per source. But still undergoing full battery of tests.

With Tom Brady only midway through his suspension, the Patriots will need another quarterback under center for at least the next two weeks.
Brissett completed 6 of 9 passes for 92 yards. Even if New England rolls with the rookie for the next two weeks, they'll need another body in reserve just in case.
