SEC basketball fans have many complaints about the game, like Kentucky dominating the conference every season or the officiating. Mostly the officiating. The way it currently works is that the SEC contracts whatever refs are in the region for their games and that leads to inconsistencies in how the game is called. One night a team could end up with ACC refs, another night Conference USA refs and the next night it could be Big 12 refs.

This has been a constant complaint from coaches and according to CBSSports.com's Gary Parrish, there seems to be a remedy on the way for this travesty.

There's one particular incident from this past season that demonstrates exactly why this deal needed to get done. Isaac Humphries was assessed a technical in a game against Texas A&M that essentially cost the Wildcats the game. He was angry with himself for committing a dumb foul and the refs mistook the ball spike as showing them up and gave the Aggies free throws that sealed the win for them.
The AAC guys can't be any worse than the refs the SEC was contracting and at the very least, they'll be consistent.
