The ACC is moving their championship game from Charlotte

Big news out of the ACC.

It looks like the ACC is following in the steps of the NCAA.

In reaction to North Carolina's House Bill 2, the NCAA announced recently that it would be pulling events from North Carolina. On Wednesday, the ACC announced a similar move, announcing it would move all neutral site championships out of the state this year.

"We believe North Carolina House Bill 2 is inconsistent with these values, and as a result, we will relocate all neutral site championships for the 2016-17 academic year. All locations will be announced in the future from the conference office."

Of course, the ACC Championship has been held in Charlotte for the past several years, but it looks like that won't be the case this season.

House Bill 2 has been controversial for what many see as discrimination against members of the LGBT community. In addition to the NCAA, the NBA has also been an active sports organization on the bill, as they moved the 2017 NBA All-Star Game out of Charlotte earlier this year.

Potential sites for the ACC Championship are likely to include Atlanta, Orlando, and Tampa.
