Rose was absent from the game, and team officials are still unclear about why Rose decided not to attend, according to The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski and ESPN's Ian Begley.

As Woj reported, Rose was benched in favor of rookie Ron Baker Friday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, but it's unclear if that's the reason he missed the game. Rose was replaced by backup point guard Brandon Jennings.

The Pelicans defeated the Knicks 110-96 , who dropped to 17-21 on the season. The Knicks visit the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
