FIU has already hired its head coach in Butch Davis and now FAU has to find its head coach after firing Charlie Partridge earlier this season. The job search has been fairly quiet, but it looks like the Owls might be firing up the search machine in full.

College football insider Bruce Feldman is reporting what exactly the athletic department is looking for in its next head coach:
#FAU would prefer a guy with head coaching experience & may target Jim Leavitt, Mario Cristobal or Randy Shannon, per source.

Cristobal was the head coach at FIU from 2007 to 2012 and is now the offensive line coach at Alabama. Randy Shannon was the head coach at Miami from 2007 to 2010. He is now the associate head coach at Florida as well as the linebackers coach. Leavitt was the head coach at USF from 1997 to 2009 and was there when the Bulls were ranked #2 in the BCS polls and for the first time they cracked the AP Poll top 25.
