Apparently USC felt that the ejection should be the biggest part of Ruffin's punishment, as the Trojans are only going to suspend him for a half of their next game against Utah State.
Clay Helton said defensive end Jabari Ruffin is suspended for the first half of the Utah State game. He will also write an apology note.

An half-game suspension and an apology note? Wow, that sounds hard.

Seriously, USC; you are playing Utah State in your next game. You really couldn't sit Ruffin out for the whole game? You seriously can't allow behavior like that on the football field.
Be better, USC.
