WWE approached this wrestling legend about a return, but here's why he is saying no

This makes a lot of sense for him.

WWE's recent split into separate brands for RAW and SmackDown left them with one problem: there was a chance they simply didn't have enough bodies to do it. Because of that, WWE has been reaching out to past performers to fill out the rosters, and names like Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, Tajiri, and Jinder Mahal are back with the company.

We now know of at least one person that turned them down, as ECW legend Tommy Dreamer said on SiriusXM radio that he was unable to come to terms with the company.

From Busted Open Nation: (h/t CageSideSeats)

Yes, WWE has reached out to me. I was actually scheduled to be at the Draft and then, Dreamer's travel subject to change, they switched it on me. The week before, I was there. They were in Michigan. I was visiting my family in Michigan. On a lovely 23 days on the road, I got to see my family for half a second in Michigan. They've offered me a contract and I really have so many commitments to my own company as well as the charities and to other shows, I can't sign a contract. And I told them I will do just like I did with the Wyatts, in the sense of I was not under contract when I wrestled that whole time back in WWE. I love WWE, but I just can't sign a contract right now.

Dreamer runs his own wrestling promotion called House of Hardcore, and it's clear that he doesn't want to give that — and his free-flowing schedule overall — up to signed a committed contract with WWE.

Dreamer last worked with WWE in December and January. Then, he was tagging with his old ECW comrades, the Dudley Boyz, against the Wyatt Family.
