According to Yahoo! Sports and Pat Forde, the NCAA has sent a Notice of Allegations to Ole Miss concerning about 30 violations that occurred in Ole Miss's football, women's basketball, and track and field programs. The nature of the violations is not currently known, but we do know is this:

Ole Miss isn't new to investigations, as Hugh Freeze's entire tenure has essentially been overlooked by NCAA investigators due to the previous administration. This came to a head in the summer of 2015, when star offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil was forced to sit out several games after impermissible benefits were found following a domestic dispute between Tunsil and his father-in-law.
The timing of these allegations is certainly interesting. While the NCAA might not have done this on purpose, it is weird to accuse the program of violations during one of the biggest — if not the biggest- recruiting week of the year. National Signing Day is on February 3, and the timing of this Yahoo! report was not lost on at least one of Ole Miss's football players.
Regardless of the timing, Ole Miss will have 90 days to respond to the NCAA allegations.
