The world No. 1 joined "Piers Morgan Uncensored" on Tuesday and pushed back on a wave of headlines built around comments from fellow pro Marta Kostyuk. Those comments spun out of an October Tennis365 interview that went viral after an added line suggested Kostyuk felt "intimidated" by Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek because of "different biological structures."

Sabalenka brushed that off.

"That's so funny that we even talk about someone like Marta Kostyuk's comments, but all I hear here is just excuses," Sabalenka said. She added that Kostyuk is "a strong girl" who "probably has more muscles than I do," and said the narrative does not match what actually happens in their matches.

Kostyuk, ranked No. 26, said during the original interview that she believes she faces physical disadvantages against the top players. She cited height, strength, and natural biological factors, and explained she has to work harder to create the same opportunities on court.

Tennis365 later clarified that Kostyuk was answering a basic question about what separates elite players and not attempting to criticize Sabalenka or Swiatek. The outlet said the added phrasing in the initial version caused the controversy.

Sabalenka, who beat Kostyuk twice in 2025, posted a string of bikini photos around the time the quotes began circulating. Tennis fans read that as a response, and Piers Morgan asked her about it.

"Just wanted to make sure that she sees the real picture," Sabalenka said.
