"When we got to the curve she kept bumping me in my arm and when we got off the curve I finally passed her and that was when she hit me with the baton," Tucker told news reporters. "I just felt a bang on my head and fell off the track immediately."
Tucker said she immediately felt a headache and has been diagnosed with a concussion in addition to a possible skull fracture.
The one held responsible for this incident has been identified as Alaila Everett, and she is seemingly claiming her innocence, saying it was an accident.
"After a couple times of hitting her, my baton got stuck behind her back like this, and it rolled up her back," Everett said. "I lost my balance when I pumped my arms again."
"It's like they are going off of one angle... They are assuming my character, calling me ghetto and racial slurs, death threats... all of this off of a nine second video."
Although, not many people are believing Everett's side of the story, as the video looks like a blatant display of bad sportsmanship to the highest degree.
The Virginia High School League director of communications has released a statement amid the ongoing investigation: "It's a serious issue especially when it involves the safety of athletes in competitions."
