The Sacramento Kings are reportedly open to talk trades for All-Star point guard De'Aaron Fox ahead of the Feb. 6 trade deadline. Sources across the league indicate there are "plenty of suitors" for the guard but according to ESPN's Shams Charania, it is believed that Fox has already named the San Antonio Spurs as his preferred destination.

San Antonio Emerge as Favorites in De'Aaron Fox Sweepstakes
De'Aaron Fox trade rumors were common earlier in the season, when the Kings were struggling under Mike Brown. When the rumors reached their peak, the Houston Rockets and San Antonio Spurs were two teams that showed interest in the point guard early on.
Houston's recent spurt of success has reportedly inspired the organization to "let this current group see how far it can go." The Rockets just capped off a 3-game winning streak after handing the defending champion Boston Celtics a gut wrenching 114-112 defeat, making them 10-3 in January.
The Spurs, on the other hand, are still looking for a star running mate for Victor Wembanyama as he ascends to his perch as the future face of the sport. Fox is averaging 25.2 points, 6.2 assists, 5.0 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game while shooting 46.8 percent from the field and 32.4 percent from deep. While the perimeter shooting could stand to be improved, he's considered one of the best playmakers in the league today and would fit perfectly in San Antonio.
Los Angeles Lakers Reportedly 'In No Part' of Discussions for Landing Spots
One team that is not expected to factor into discussions, according to Shams Charania, would be the Los Angeles Lakers.
"One thing I can say, with Rich Paul, we know he's got LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the Lakers," Charania said on NBA Today. "I'm told the Lakers are not part of that destination of choice for De'Aaron Fox potentially."
Fox, 27, has one year left on his contract before he hits free agency in the summer of 2026.
