Fans Enraged With Lakers, LeBron James After Latest Bronny James Decision

There was a lot of excitement surrounding the Los Angeles Lakers this season. After being eliminated by the Denver Nuggets in the playoffs (yet again) the Lakers parted ways with head coach Darvin Ham, hired former NBA sharpshooter JJ Reddick and there seemed to be a clean slate for the Laker faithful. But the most excitement came from the Lakers drafting LeBron James' son, Bronny, with the 55th pick in the NBA Draft making them the first father-son duo to ever take the court together. \

Fans React After Lakers' Latest Bronny James Decision

But despite being a second-round draft pick, Bronny has not seen much of the floor. In fact, he has only scored twice this entire season. Both of which came in garbage time minutes during blowout losses to the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers. As the Lakers enter the thick of the NBA season, the franchise has chosen to demote him to their G-League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers according to ESPN NBA insider Shams Charania.

"The Los Angeles Lakers have assigned rookie Bronny James to their G League affiliate, South Bay, and sources told ESPN that he is expected to debut for the team Saturday against Salt Lake City," Shams wrote.

"James will be on the Lakers' roster for Friday's game against the Philadelphia 76ers, then will rejoin South Bay"

Following the news of his move to the G-League fans went wild with reactions on social media.

"This is a bad idea for Bronny's development. Going back and forth between two teams makes it impossible to develop chemistry with either," one user said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Nepotism to the fullest man, what G league player gets to stay home like this and not have to play away games," another fan added.

Bronny Won't Play in G-League Full-Time

Although this seems to be a major decision in the Bronny James saga is it not as big of a deal as it looks at first glance, because the situation in itself is unique. Bronny will not be a full-time G-League player as he will only play home games with the South Bay Lakers according to Shams.

"The organization's current plan is for James to play in only G League home games as he shuttles between the Lakers and South Bay," Shams added.

"As James and his representative, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul, discussed development throughout his pre-draft process with NBA teams, sources told ESPN that the concept of G League play was welcomed."
