RELATED: Ohio State takes massive lead in 2017 recruiting war

Ohio State may be the king of recruiting so far in 2017, but the Buckeyes can't get them all. That was evident when four-star wide receiver Javonte Richardson (6-foot-4, 210 pounds, Maple Heights, OH) announced his commitment earlier this week, choosing Kentucky over his home-state squad.
Don't underestimate what Kentucky is doing in 2017 recruiting. The Wildcats already have ten commitments for this year's class, with Richardson boosting them to No. 10 in the nation in 247Sports' team rankings. Kentucky has been one of the doormats in the SEC for quite a while, but their recruiting has been picking up in recent years. Maybe they can keep the trend going in 2017, and maybe even make some noise in the SEC East in the near future.
