Justin Jefferson Declares Himself Best in The World After Vikings' Win Over Jets

The Minnesota Vikings faced the New York Jets in London and came away with a 23-17 victory to improve to 5-0 on the season. A large reason for their success has been their All-Pro wide receiver, Justin Jefferson. Jefferson is already on pace to have his fifth consecutive season of 1000-plus receiving yards. To put in perspective how rare that is, Tampa Bay Buccaneers star, Mike Evans just became to first player to accomplish 10 consecutive 1000-yard seasons.

Justin Jefferson Puts League on Notice After Vikings' Win

Coming into the matchup, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh said he would emphasize blanketing Jefferson and planned to throw multiple schemes at him. The Jets were able to prevent him from getting into the endzone. But their secondary didn't stop much else as Jefferson finished with 14 catches for 92 yards. After the game Jefferson, noted the difficulty of playing against multiple coverages but noted it comes with being the "best receiver in the game."

"It's difficult to push through the contact. I still even with the contact I try to make the play. But you know it is what it is it's part of this game," Jefferson said.

"It comes with being the best receiver in the game."

Star Wide Receiver Unsatisfied With Offensive Output

The Vikings will head into the bye week as one of two undefeated teams along with the Kansas City Chiefs who play the New Orleans Saints on Monday. However, considering how explosive their offense has been in their first four games, they will head into the break on a semi-low note.

Sam Darnold, who some believed was the frontrunner for MVP heading into the game, put up a dud. He threw for just 179 yards, no touchdowns, and one interception.

Despite the win, Jefferson also noted that the team has a lot to improve upon if they want to be viewed as serious contenders and not just another five-week flash in the pan.

"It feels great to be undefeated but there is definitely a lot to improve on and work on in this film room. It's definitely good to get this bye and get some time off but I'm ready to get back to it," he added.
