LiAngelo Ball Gains Cult-like Following in Sports World

Ball, the middle brother of NBA guards LaMelo and Lonzo, quickly garnered a subculture of fans both on social media and in the sports world. Several teams including the Brooklyn Nets and Cleveland Cavaliers have recorded themselves bumping the track in their locker rooms after games. Even the Detroit Lions knew that the only way to celebrate clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC was to 'swerve, bend that corna'.

Gelo's single seemingly resonates with ordinary music lovers as well, earning nearly 4 million views on YouTube Music.

Rolling Loud Adds Gelo to Upcoming Los Angeles Lineup

The immediate success of "Tweaker" prompted Rolling Loud to announce LiAngelo Ball as a performer for their California Festival in March. He'll take the stage as part of the Saturday lineup.

Seeing how "Tweaker" is the only track he currently has released, it's unclear how long Ball's set will be. Fortunately, his brother Lonzo urged fans to stay tuned as more songs are on the way. Fellow Bulls member Matas Buzelis even shared a post where he and Lonzo were dancing to one of the aforementioned songs.

Ball had aspirations of taking part in the family business and balling out with his brothers in the NBA. He was briefly signed to a training camp deal by the Detroit Pistons in 2020 but was waived before the start of the 2020-21 season. He went on to sped two seasons in the NBA G League where he put up a rather disappointing 4.4 points per game. In February of last year, he signed with the Astros de Jalisco of the CIBACOPA in Mexico, but he appeared in only two games before leaving the team after suffering an ankle injury.
