Brooklyn Nets forward Ben Simmons started yet another season with the weight of the world on his shoulders. Despite being a max-contract player, Simmons has not played a full season since 2021 and has averaged less than seven points per game in his last three seasons.

Ben Simmons & Dennis Schroeder Confront Fans After Loss
Simmons had another rough outing in the Nets game against the Orlando Magic. He scored 7 points and only took five shots, shooting 2-5 from the field. After their loss to the Magic, the Nets have started the season 0-2.
As Simmons exited the arena and entered the tunnel toward the locker room area, one fan decided to add insult to injury, screaming at Simmons, telling him he was "trash."
Simmons then responded by asking the fan "Why didn't you say it when I was over there p***y?"
Simmons' Nets teammate Dennis Schroder then entered the frame, looking for the trash-talking fan asking a group of fans "Which one was talking s**t to Ben?"
The disruptor appeared to be young because the dad had to get involved. The arena security then had to enter the fray to diffuse the situation.
Seth Curry Gets Honest on Nets Forward
Despite Simmons' struggles he already has a decorated career. He is a multi-time All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year finalist. Some haven't lost hope in the star forward. Even though he has suffered through a slew of injuries, he still has the tools to be successful; it is just a matter of him putting it all together.
One of the things many have shunned Simmons for is his lack of a jumpshot. But sharpshooter Seth Curry, who has been Simmons' teammate on the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets, doesn't believe he needs a jump shot to reach his full potential.
"I don't think he needs a jump shot,'' Curry said to Australian newspaper the Herald Sun, per NetsDaily. "He's just got to do what he does best - which is defend, rebound, push the ball, make plays for other people and attack the rim. "When you've got the size and talent like him, who takes not one but two and sometimes three guys to stop him getting to the rim, that is a lot in itself.''
