Phil Mickelson recently entered a treatment facility to address "family trauma and addiction," a representative for the golfer told TMZ Sports.

Mickelson went voluntarily and has since left the facility, according to the report. His representative did not specify what addiction he sought treatment for or provide further details about the family matter.
The update follows a June statement from Mickelson's representatives saying he was giving his full attention to a private family health matter.
"Mr. Mickelson's priority is to become the husband, father, and man his family deserves," the statement said. It also asked for privacy for his family.
Mickelson has previously spoken about his struggles with gambling. In 2023, he said his gambling had crossed from moderation into addiction and affected his personal life. He said at the time that he had sought professional help.
The six-time major champion also faced allegations of sexual misconduct earlier this year. A female golf club employee accused him of inappropriate physical contact, and Ashley Perez, the former wife of golfer Pat Perez, made a separate allegation about an encounter in 2015. Mickelson disputed the allegations. There has been no public indication that either allegation prompted his treatment.
For now, the information from Mickelson's camp is limited: He sought help, has left the facility and has asked that his family's private matters remain private.
