As the WNBA continues to grow more and more across the country, so too do its star players. Coinciding with the boom in women's basketball has been the emergence of Angel Reese, who rose from stardom at LSU to making an immediate impact in her rookie campaign with the Chicago Sky. To that end, it's no surprise an Angel Reese podcast is on the horizon.

The forward will capitalize on the opportunity before her by firing up her very own podcast, "Unapologetically Angel." The premiere episode will air on September 5 with new releases every Thursday moving forward. Maya Reese will serve as her co-host and co-producer. Playmaker HQ, which is a part of Shaquille O'Neal's podcast network, will be the ones behind the show. Shaq had already signed Reese to an endorsement deal back in college so it's no surprise to see him working with her again.
In a video she shared on X, Reese expressed how "super excited" she is at the opportunity. After all, it's a great time to be an athlete who has a podcast. Reese noted that the list of guests she plans on bringing on will be a wide mix from actors to athletes and everything in between.

One thing that is for certain is that the episodes will certainly be candid. Reese isn't one to shy away from firing back on social media. Since being drafted, she's been a hot topic among commentators, analysts, and fans alike for her playing style down to her so-called rivalry with Caitlin Clark. Reese added some more fuel to the fire in her announcement video.
"We gonna be spilling the tea from our voice, our narrative, our perspective," she explained. "But for the blogs, but y'all think y'all clocking tea, y'all not clocking no tea cause we gonna spill the tea to our real lives, period."
I suppose that's where the "unapologetically" part comes from in the Angel Reese podcast.
Reese was drafted No. 7 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft. The Maryland native won an NCAA championship in 2023 along with being named the Most Outstanding Player of the tournament. As a professional, she earned WNBA All-Star honors as a rookie. She is currently averaging a double-double for the Sky with 13.5 points and 12.9 rebounds per game.
