Angle Reese and Caitlin Clark had many battles on the basketball court throughout the two players' NCAA and WNBA careers. That is to say, now both rookies will be competing together and not against each other, as they will be making an appearance sporting the same uniforms on the WNBA All-Star team.
Clark, out of Iowa, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 Draft, while Reese, from LSU, was the No. 7 selection. Both knocked each other out of the NCAA tournament in consecutive years, as LSU won the national championship game in 2023, 102-85, while the Iowa Hawkeyes won this year's elite 8 matchup 94-87.

"It's going to be really cool. I mean, I know so many fans are going to come out to watch both of us, but I know a lot of people are just going to be able to come to Phoenix."
With all the hype surrounding Clark, which has led to many new WNBA fans and sold out arenas this season, Reese has been outspoken about herself also being the reason why people want to tune in to watch.
"I'll look back in 20 years like the reason why we're watching women's basketball is not just because of one person. It's because of me too. I want y'all to realize that." Reese said last month.
As both Clark and Reese are currently in a Rookie of the Year battle, as well as being on-court rivals, many certainly will want to see how it plays out with them having to play alongside one another.

"I'm sure it's already sold out," Reese said about teaming up with her nemesis. "So being able to be in that environment, we're going to be playing together for a while. So this is not going to be the first time. I know we'll be All-Stars again. I know hopefully in 2028 we'll be Olympians together too."

To note, the WNBA All-Star game will take place on July 20 at 8:30 pm ET, and this year's event will feature the regular All-Stars who were voted in by the fans, then they will matchup with the Team USA women's Paris Olympics roster.
So far this season to compare Indiana Fever's Clark and Chicago Sky's Reese, both have played well and set records. To point out, Clark became the first rookie to record a triple-double in WNBA history, while Reese set the WNBA record for most consecutive double-doubles, as she now has 14 games in a row with double-digit points and rebounds.
Clark is averaging 16.7 points (39.8% FG; 34% 3PT), 5.9 rebounds, 7.6 assists, to go along with 1.5 steals and 0.9 blocks. On the other hand, Reese has averaged 14.0 points (41.9% FG; 22.2% 3PT), 11.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.6 steals and 0.4 blocks.
