Caitlin Clark Didn’t Win Rookie Of The Year Unanimously As Angel Reese Receives One Vote

As was leaked earlier last week, Indiana Fever's Caitlin Clark has been named the WNBA Rookie of the Year, however, she surprisingly did not get all the votes. That is to say, Chicago Sky's Angel Reese got one vote out of the 67.

Many might remember, Reese and Clark's rivalry goes all the way back to college, as Clark's Iowa team matched up vs. Reese's LSU team in back-to-back years in the NCAA tournament. Furthermore, Reese has been outspoken about Clark getting all the attention, citing that she is also a reason why WNBA viewership is at an all-time high.

Both players broke rookie records, as Clark scored the most points (769), assists (337), 3-pointers (122) and triple-doubles (2) out of any first-year player ever.

Then on the other hand, Reese set the rebounding record (446), and averaged an astounding 13.1 rebounds per game.

In view of the total stats, the edge definitely goes to Clark, who put up 19.2 points (41.7% FG; 34.4% 3PT), 5.7 rebounds, 8.4 assists and 1.3 steals per game. Compared to Reese's statline of 13.6 points (39.1% FG), 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.3 steals.

Clark talked about winning this accomplishment, while also thanking those who have helped throughout her journey to get where she is today.

"I am incredibly honored to be named Rookie of the Year, but more than that, I am grateful to everyone that supported me throughout this past season - my family and friends, my teammates, the Fever organization and everyone that cheered us on all season."
