Caitlin Clark Milestone Triple-Double Celebrated Wildly By Fever Teammates

So many remarkable things happened for rising WNBA star Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever on Saturday.

For starters, Clark became the first rookie in league history to record a triple-double. Secondly, she became the first Fever player — ever — to record a triple-double.

Oh, and the Fever stunned the best team in the league, with Clark's 19 points, 13 assists and 12 rebounds lifting her team to a come-from-behind 83-78 home win over the mighty New York Liberty.

And the video shows that her teammates showered her with praise, and some postgame water.

"Obviously, it's really cool," Clark told reporters. "My teammates have been finishing the ball really, really at a high rate. My assist numbers, that's because of them."

Indiana coach Christie Sides, whose job Clark may be saving, praised her rookie and the team's defense.

"Caitlin with a triple-double, my gosh, that's incredible," Sides said after the game. "Holding New York to 16 points in the fourth quarter, that's huge for us. That's the No. 1 team in the league."

The Fever feature Clark and reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year Aliyah Boston. They stand at 9-13, which is a real credit to both of those players. Without a doubt, Indiana is vastly improving and this victory proved as much. Overall, the Fever have won six of their last 10.

"I think the biggest difference has been when teams make runs, we don't crumble," Clark said. "We found a way to stay resilient and kind of close the gap."

Per the Associated Press: "Indiana beat New York for the first time since posting a 92-86 road win on May 13, 2022. The Fever lead the all-time series 50-41."
