Cameron Brink gets plenty of messages. Her now-fiancé didn't send one of them.

Before Brink became a rising star with the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks, she was dominating at Stanford. That's where Ben Felter decided to take his shot — just not the usual way.
There was no DM. There was no social media play. He sent an email, she revealed.
"Wanted to chat you up but I think DMs are a bit creepy," Felter wrote, dropping his number at the end.

It worked. The two started dating in March 2021 and haven't looked back since. Years later, Felter took things up another level with a proposal in Paris, surprising Brink at the Shangri-La Hotel after she walked in a Balenciaga show during Fashion Week.
Not exactly a bad setting. Brink, now one of the faces of the WNBA's next wave, has said she'd love to get married back where it all started — Stanford's Memorial Church.
Which makes sense, because the whole thing started there, too: one email, one shot, nothing complicated. Sometimes that's all it takes.
Of course, he also gave a real proposal when the time came. As PEOPLE reports, Felter got down on one knee at the Shangri-La Paris Hotel. Brink said "yes."
