Fans Erupt After Liberty Eliminate Aces, Head to Finals

However, Las Vegas appeared to run out of gas in Game 5 as the Liberty came away with the victory, dethroning the back-to-back WNBA Champs. Following the Aces' loss, fans went crazy with reactions on social media.

"Get the Aces the f**k outta here!! The Aces even had a lot of HELP from the refs but the Liberty has overcome it all," one fan said on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"Any other Aces fans feel like they can breathe now? I felt like I've been holding my breath all season and can now finally take a deep breath," another disappointed, yet relieved fan added.

New York and Vegas Have Established a Rivalry

The Aces and Liberty feud has become one of the more notable rivalries in sports. Especially after Las Vegas defeated New York to win their second straight WNBA title last season. Things only heightened after Aces guard Kelsey Plum took a shot at the Liberty's team chemistry after the loss.

"As much as they're a team, they're not a team," Plum said. "They're really good individual players but they don't care about each other. And you can tell that in those moments."

Liberty Star Jonquel Jones took offense to Plum's comments calling them "classless."

"She's not in our locker room. She doesn't know what goes on in our locker rooms and our huddles,Jones said. "I think it's easy to kick people when they're down and you're up. Honestly, to me, it felt kind of classless. You already won a championship, you get to celebrate with your teammates, you get to talk about things that your team did to be successful, and you choose to essentially just s—- on somebody else and their team and what they've built all year. Yeah, for me, I don't care anything for it, to be honest."
