Sophie Cunningham is finding ways to keep the mood light while recovering from a season-ending injury.

The Indiana Fever guard went viral this week after posting a video of herself dancing poolside in a bikini — with a bulky knee brace strapped on — as Renee Rapp's "I Think I Like You Better When You're Gone" played in the background.
The clip comes just weeks after Cunningham tore the MCL in her right knee during an Aug. 17 WNBA game against the Connecticut Sun. She collided with Bria Hartley in the second quarter of Indiana's 99-93 win. Cunningham underwent surgery and later addressed the play on her "Show Me Something" podcast, dismissing the idea that Hartley had acted with intent.
"I think that there was no ill intent. I think that it was a basketball play. I was just in the wrong spot at the wrong time," Cunningham said. "She fell. There's no way she would try to hurt me. I have nothing but love for Bria."
The 29-year-old arrived in Indiana this offseason via trade from the Phoenix Mercury and was averaging 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists before the injury.
The Fever have been hammered by injuries this summer. Sydney Colson (ACL) and Aari McDonald (broken foot) are also sidelined, while reigning Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark has been out since mid-July with a groin injury.
At 21-20, Indiana is still in playoff position, but Cunningham is already finding a different role — dancing through rehab, keeping her fan base entertained, and making sure the Fever stay on the timeline even when she can't be on the court.
