Surfing icon Kelly Slater, 54, and his longtime partner Kalani Miller, 38, have shared some big news. They are expecting their second child together.

The couple announced the news with multiple posts on Instagram. One featured a video of Slater, Miller and their son Tao on the beach. This black-and-white clip showed Miller's baby bump. The post revealed that the baby is due in spring 2026.
"My little growing family! Counting my blessings to be able to be on this pregnancy journey again. Thank you everyone for all the love," Miller wrote on her Instagram profile.
Miller and Slater have been together for several years after first meeting at a contest. They welcomed their first child together, Tao, in 2024. Slater also has a daughter from a previous relationship.
The Florida native is one of the biggest names in surfing history. He has competed since 1990 while winning countless championships and trophies.
Some examples of Slater's success include three US Open of Surfing championships (1992, 1996, 2011), three Triple Crown of Surfing championships (1995, 1998, 2019), 11 World Champion titles, eight Pipeline Masters championships, and multiple X-Games gold medals.
The list of accomplishments continue with countless other wins, as well as the Laureus Lifetime Achievement Award. Laureus is a global organization that celebrates sporting excellence, as well as the ability to positively change the world.
Slater has won the Laureus World Action Sportsperson of the Year Award several times, but he added the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2025.
The veteran surfer is also a member of the Surfer's Hall of Fame. He was part of a stacked 2002 class also featuring Laird Hamilton, Lisa Andersen, Joel Tudor, Robert James "Wingnut" Weaver, Robert August, and Corky Carroll.
Slater has numerous surfing accolades to his name, but his current role is significantly important. He is a partner and father. Soon, he will be a two-time father as his family continues to expand.
