This normally strong defense is putting up some historically bad numbers

YIKES.

Florida State (3-2, 0-2) has been absolutely atrocious on defense this year allowing over 35 points a game. The only game the Seminoles looked any decent was against FCS opponent Charleston Southern. Other than that, this normally stout and top 10 defense has been in all kinds of turmoil this season.

Derwin James —- the best secondary player FSU has in its arsenal —- was injured early in the season and there have been a few other injuries, but there is absolutely no reason to allow this kind of stat to happen:

Florida State's slate doesn't get a whole lot easier as the Seminoles travel to Miami next week and will have to host Clemson three weeks after that. The Noles are also allowing 438.4 total yards a game, which puts them 94 nationally in the FBS. Not an ideal look for this team at all.
