An 11-month old boy was hit in the face by a line-drive foul ball at a professional baseball game in New Jersey on Wednesday night, according to NJ.com.

New Jersey state police spokesman Lt. Ted Schaefer said the child was in a stroller when he was hit in the eye by a foul ball during a Sussex County Miners baseball game at 7:29 p.m. at Skylands Stadium in Augusta, New Jersey.
Witnesses told NJ.com that the boy and his father were on the first base line past the netted portion when a left-handed batter from the visiting team hit the foul ball.
The boy was conscious after being hit, and he was flown by helicopter to University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, and hospital spokesman Rick Remington said he is currently in stable condition.

The Miners play in the Canadian American Association of Professional Baseball, which is an independent professional league. They were playing the Trois-Rivieres Aigles of Quebec. The Miners won the game 4-2.
Hopefully the child continues to make progress and recovers quickly from the devastating injury.
