Green Bay Packers continue front office shakeup with bizarre, unheard of move

This seems very odd.

The Green Bay Packers fired defensive coordinator Dom Capers earlier on Monday and now they seem to be shuffling the front office around as well.

Thompson has not been fired or released by the team and it would appear that he will actually stick with the team, but in a different role. That role has to be determined and a full GM search will be underway for the Pack. Thompson came in as the GM in 2005 and was responsible for drafting Aaron Rodgers and of course the Packers won a Super Bowl during his tenure in 2011.

However, Thompson's last few years drafting have not been great and he has not given Rodgers the help on either side of the ball that he needs to win more championships. He did draft Mason Crosby, Jordy Nelson and Clay Matthews though so he certainly knows how to find talent.
