Apparently a Florida State legend helped flip four-star OLB Xavier Peters from Kentucky

That would do it for most guys.

Apparently, Deion Sanders played a huge role in getting top-prospect Xavier Peters to commit to the Florida State Seminoles.

Peters, an outside linebacker prospect who was Kentucky's No. 1 recruit in the 2018 class recently changed his mind and decided Florida State would be his new home.

A four-star recruit, Peters was one of Kentucky's 20 signees. That was prior to this tweet:

And why did he end up going to FSU?

"What really made them get out was when Deion [Sanders] hit up Coach Tag [Willie Taggart] after the [Under Armour All-America] Game," Peters told 247Sports.

"He was like 'You all have to get this kid'," Peters explained. "The main thing I was thinking about was Deion doesn't do that with everybody. So just getting that information from him and hearing that from coach, it is a blessing."

Basically, it appears Sanders put Peters on Taggart's radar, then the new FSU head coach went to work. Honestly, that is pretty neat.

According to the 247Sports composite, Peters is the No. 12 outside linebacker in the 2018 recruiting class, and the No. 6 overall recruit from the state of Ohio. Basically, he is a pretty big deal.

Florida State, a program transitioning from the Jimbo Fisher era to a new one under Willie Taggart, doing well on the recruiting trail is incredibly important. With a new head coach manning the helm, having little to no drop off in the hearts and minds of high school players should help the transition go smoothly.
