High Schooler Had the Wildest Interception You’ll Ever See in His State Championship

Belleville High School and Southfield A&T played Sunday in Michigan's Division 1 championship game — and not only did it feature one of the biggest-ever upsets in all of Michigan high school athletics, it also had one of the greatest interceptions you'll ever see.

Up 6-0, Southfield A&T was on its 12-yard line as senior quarterback Isaiah Marshall took the snap, dropped back a few steps and fired over the middle of the field beyond the 25-yard line.

However, Belleville defender Adrian "AD" Walker Jr. was there to pick the ball off in one of the most impressive ways. He goes up for the pick with both hands and bobbles it — but then successfully corrals it behind his back with two hands. He then takes the ball back to Southfield A&T's 11-yard line before being tripped up.

While he bobbled it initially, you'll see from the play that he was leaning to his right and forced himself to contort his body back toward the left to even get a hand on it.

Belleville had a 38-game winning streak going into the game, but Southfield A&T went on to win 36-32.

Marshall, the quarterback who threw the interception, is headed to play for the Kansas Jayhawks. At the same time, Walker announced recently on his X account that he received an offer from Miami of Ohio. He's part of the 2025 recruiting class.

The circus-like interception by Walker didn't impact Marshall, though.

"As soon as I threw the pick, I knew what I had to do differently," Marshall said. "I just wasn't thinking about that last play. As soon as I threw the pick, I just thought about it on the bench, then as soon as I came out, it wasn't on my mind at all. I just knew I had to go down the field and score."

Well, it's official: We can add two more players to watch for as they hit the college ranks.
