Ole Miss Star Transfers To Elite National Title Contender

Earlier this month, Ole Miss superstar running back Quinshon Judkins shockingly announced he was leaving the program via the transfer portal, and now he's found a new home in the Big Ten with the Ohio State Buckeyes.

On Monday, Judkins committed to Ohio State, which is likely to lose plenty of talent at that spot in the 2024 NFL Draft. On3 Sports broke the news of Judkins' commitment via X.

Judkins is the latest offensive player to head to Ohio State, joining former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard.

Judkins' college football career began in 2022 with the Rebels. Since then, he's accumulated 546 carries for 2,726 yards and 31 rushing touchdowns, along with 37 receptions, 281 receiving yards and three receiving scores.

He's had at least 15 rushing touchdowns in back-to-back seasons.

Running back talent might be a huge need for the Buckeyes. TreVeyon Henderson is draft-eligible, though hasn't announced his plans, and Chip Trayanum transferred to Kentucky.

The Buckeyes ranked 88th in the nation in rushing yards per game at 138.8 while dealing with numerous injuries at the position.

Fans on X were excited about the Buckeyes' acquisition.

"This a crazy get for Ohio State Definitely going to be a problem to deal for Ohio State opponents," one user wrote.

Many fans have noted the timing of the announcement, which was made as Big Ten rival Michigan was winning the 2023-24 national championship.

"Literally as Michigan wins the natty," one user wrote.

"This is crazy as Michigan winning the Natty this News happens," someone else wrote.

Even some Ole Miss fans are wishing their former star well.

"Thankful.....I feared he was gonna try to come back when he saw how well Ole Miss had actually been to him financially," one fan wrote. "This is best for our team and University. Best Wishes Q....till we meet again."

We now look forward to seeing a Howard-Judkins combo later this year.
