Scottie Scheffler's Arrest Mocked By Parody Video

No. 1 ranked golfer in the world, Scottie Scheffler has been all over the news after he was arrested ahead of the PGA Championship back on May 17.

The reason for the arrest had to do with Scheffler being charged for felony aggravated assault on a police officer, as he was accused of "dragging" a policeman to the ground with his car. In addition, the golfer was hit with misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals.

That is to say, after video footage has since been released of the incident, fans were able to see that the officer, who was later identified as Detective Bryan Gillis, exaggerated Scheffler's aggression.

Many viewed the whole ordeal as somewhat comical given Scheffler's calm persona on the PGA tour, and some have even went to great lengths to reenact the arrest video.

This funny video was captured in Louisville, Kentucky, down the road from the Valhalla Golf Club, which is where the original arresting scene took place, in which Scheffler was accused of dragging an officer with his car.

In the clip you can hear the infamous "Bad Boys" soundtrack, from the TV show called "Cops," playing in the background.

The charges against Scheffler have been dropped, as it was confirmed by the Louisville Police Chief, Jacquelyn Gwinn-Villaroel, that officer Gillis actually committed a "policy violation" by not having his body cam turned on.

"Detective Gillis did have an encounter with Scottie Scheffler. Det. Gillis should have turned on his body cam, but did not... Detective Gillis was counseled by his supervisor," The police chief also cited that "corrective action" was taken against Gillis in relation to the incident.

It shows Scottie turn into the lot and a police officer chase after the car and bang on the window. Scottie then stops the car immediately.

With all that being said, Scheffler surely has gained some "street cred" after being arrested and spending time in jail. And as a result will seemingly always have a funny story to tell his grandkids one day.
