Little League Baseball Coach And Umpire Start A Brawl On the Field

As many know Little League baseball in America is pretty intense, sometimes more for the parents/coaches than for the actual 12-year-old players. During a state tournament game between Cherryville and Bull City in Wilson, North Carolina, a home plate umpire and head coach started fighting each other, as the kids watched.

It all started during the first half of the fifth inning, when Cherryville's coach went onto the field, as he disagreed with one of the ump's calls. The umpire, who has since been identified as Robby Beamon, was trying to eject the coach because he said some foul language.

However, the coach wasn't going away any time soon as he shoved Beamon, which was a bad idea... The umpire then got angry himself, and used his protective mask as a weapon, while he repeatedly beat the coach. The fight seemingly went on for a while, before the other coaches restrained Beamon.

In regards to the incident, as reported by TMZ, the Wilson Parks and Recreation Director, David Lee told the local news, "We have no tolerance for this type of behavior."

"There are a lot of people working hard to make sure our youth are having a positive experience, and it's just unfortunate and honestly embarrassing that two adults ruined that last night."

The police were not called and no one went to jail for assault, however, both the umpire and coach were suspended.

As a reminder, the Little League World Series is less than a month away, so things will undoubtedly heat up across America as teams compete in state tournaments to get a chance to be invited to Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
