"I think they're tied in my brain," Romo said while calling the Bills' blowout win over the Jets. "I think that Josh Allen might get the edge, only because Lamar's had two (MVP awards).
"If Josh had two, you're gonna side with the guy who doesn't have one. That's just human nature in my opinion."

"And this quote is exactly why Lamar should be MVP," one person posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. "It's a sympathy MVP award."
Many others weighed in after hearing Romo's comments about the prestigious award. Some agreed that Allen should win MVP, but they disagreed with the analyst's reasoning. Some strongly disagreed with Romo.
Others, however, said that Joe Burrow deserves the award considering that he has overcome a defense that ranks 28th in the league and has put the Bengals into playoff contention.
"LOL empathy award now if that's the case...." another person commented on social media after hearing Romo's comments.
On paper, the two quarterbacks have similar numbers while their teams are both playoff-bound.
Jackson has 3,955 passing yards, 852 rushing yards, 43 total touchdowns, and four interceptions. The Ravens are 11-5 with an opportunity to win the AFC North next week.
Allen has 3,731 passing yards, 531 rushing yards, 41 total touchdowns, and six interceptions. The Bills are 13-3. They won the AFC East and clinched the No. 2 seed in the AFC playoffs.
The viral clip that surfaced during the game was not the only time that Romo addressed the MVP race. He also appeared on CBS Sports and explained further why he believes Allen will win instead of Jackson.

"I mean honestly it's a coin flip in a lot of ways," Romo said. "I only give the edge to Josh because of the team record, and right now, it's like that's the difference.
"Everything is so close. They're both such a huge part of the team winning, and I feel like Josh has probably had to do a little bit more."
Romo's comments about doing more referenced Derrick Henry, who has been a key figure on offense for the Ravens. He has rushed for 1,783 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Of course, Allen has James Cook in the backfield. Cook has rushed for 981 yards and 15 touchdowns this season.
The debates surrounding the MVP award were fierce in Week 17. They will only continue in the final week of the regular season considering that Jackson still has something to play for.
The Bills can't gain anything during Week 18 considering that they are locked into the No. 2 seed. The Ravens, however, still have to win the division and clinch the No. 3 seed. The Steelers are also in contention for the AFC North title, which would drop the Ravens to the No. 5 seed.
With so much on the line, Jackson will have to put on another show in the final week of the regular season. This could help him woo votes away from Allen.
