According to an indictment obtained by multiple outlets, Sneed failed to report the commission of a felony. This is a class A misdemeanor. Possible penalties include a year in county jail and/or a fine of up to $4,000.
The Tennesseean obtained the indictment, which said that Sneed "after having observed the commission of felony under circumstances in which reasonable person would have believed that an offense had been committed in which serious bodily injury or death may have resulted, namely AGGRAVATED ASSAULT, intentionally and knowingly fail to immediately report the commission of the offense to peace officer or law enforcement agency, and reasonable person would have believed that the commission of the offense had not been reported, and the person could have immediately reported the commission of the offense without placing himself in danger of suffering serious bodily injury or death."
The incident in question stems from an alleged shooting at a dealer lot, One Legacy Motors. Christian Nshimiyimana filed a lawsuit in February, saying that Sneed or his personal assistant shot at him while he was sitting inside of a Mercedes-Benz. The $1 million lawsuit said that bullets fired from a Lamborghini Urus missed Nshimiyimana and everyone else.
The Carrollton Police Department arrested Sneed and "his accomplice" on allegations of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Attorney Levi McCathern then issued a statement about the incident.
"The proof is there," McCathern said, per ESPN. "There is video surveillance from the dealership showing the car and the person who opened fire on Christian.
"We want to know why this happened. We're thankful no one was shot, but we continue to search for the reason behind this incident."
Sneed started his NFL career as a fourth-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft. He spent the first four years with the Kansas City Chiefs while appearing in 57 games and posting 10 interceptions.
The Chiefs then traded Sneed to the Titans in 2024. He has since appeared in only 12 games due to injuries. He is currently on Injured Reserve with a quadriceps injury.
