The criminal trial for former NFL quarterback and ex-Fox analyst Mark Sanchez has been pushed back, exactly as many expected, wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk.

Lauren Conlin of Los Angeles Magazine reported that Sanchez's legal team submitted an unopposed request for a continuance, which the court granted. The trial has been moved from December 11, 2025, to March 12, 2026.

A final pre-trial conference is now scheduled for March 3.

The filing did not offer a reason for the delay, but the timeline lines up with what Sanchez's attorneys told the court during an October 22 hearing, Florio writes.

At that session, they said Sanchez is "still recovering" from injuries suffered during the October 5 incident in Indianapolis and that his recovery "may impact some of the dates" previously set by the court.

He faces multiple charges, including felony battery, stemming from an altercation with 69-year-old truck driver Perry Tole.

According to authorities, he allegedly attacked Tole, who then stabbed Sanchez multiple times during the struggle.

Sanchez was in Indianapolis to work Fox's broadcast of the Raiders-Colts Week 5 matchup. After the incident, both Sanchez and Fox were named in a civil suit tied to Tole's injuries.

Fox later moved on from Sanchez and hired Drew Brees as his replacement.

The criminal case now heads toward its new March timeline, with both sides preparing for what is expected to be a closely watched trial.
