During proceedings tied to Moore's recent arrest, an attorney representing the female staff member at the center of the case alleged Moore had a "long history of domestic violence" against her. The claim was made by the woman's lawyer, Heidi Sharp, during a 911 call placed as events were unfolding, according to court transcripts.

Moore, 39, was arrested after allegedly forcing his way into the Ann Arbor apartment of executive assistant Paige Shiver shortly after she reported their relationship to the university. Michigan fired Moore on Dec. 10, citing an inappropriate relationship with a staff member. He was arrested later that same day.

According to court records, Sharp told dispatchers that her client contacted her after Moore allegedly broke into the apartment and began making suicidal threats. During the call, Sharp described Moore as "very dangerous" and referenced what she called a history of domestic violence. The records do not detail any prior incidents beyond that statement.

Prosecutors said Moore and the staff member had been involved in a multi-year relationship that ended shortly before the incident. In the days that followed, Moore allegedly sent repeated calls and text messages after she cut off contact.

After Moore was dismissed by Michigan, authorities allege he went to the woman's apartment, grabbed kitchen items including butter knives and scissors, and made threatening statements. Prosecutors say the woman had returned briefly to collect belongings because she planned to leave town.

Moore has been charged with felony home invasion as well as misdemeanor counts related to stalking and breaking and entering. He has pleaded not guilty.

Michigan officials have said Moore was terminated for cause following an internal investigation. The criminal case remains ongoing.
